Metamorphosis Monday Project

Last week I picked up this diamond in the rough for $10. Thought I could paint it and sell it. So let's slap some white paint on. Doesn't have to be perfect for the finish I was going for.
Then went to Home Depot for some stain.
Normally I would use whatever was in the garage,
but my supple was depleted.
MINWAX Wood Finish- Dark Walnut
With such great detail I toyed with the idea of
a multi-color theme. But in the end I went
with the fast finish.

I still have to sand and put a finish on, but I was really pleased with how it turned out. So much so that, I just have to keep it. Now where to stash my old coffee table. It belonged to my Granny so ya know I can't part with it.

Another Met Monday project

inspired by my girlfriends in
blogland...this time it was...

Miss Gracie's House

On March 2nd she shared her
bedroom makeover. The finish
on her iron and brass headboard
inspired me.

If you haven't visited her yet
you are in for a treat. Enjoy!

  4. Wow Candy, that turned out so great! I am looking to do something similar as a nightstand for my daughter's bedroom, just haven't found quite the right diamond in the rough yet!

  5. Spectacular!!!!!! This will be a fabulous addition to your home. I can't believe this $10.00 coffee table can look like a million bucks! You did such a wonderful job. I absolutely love the finish! I am just venturing into the world of painting furniture. I sure could use a good tutorial (hint for another post), but you gave me tons of inspiration!
