Keepin' cool...

...in the pool. I stepped outside this morning
to take a few pics of the pond for my
OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY celebration today.

The fish kept darting in and out from under the water lilies,
so I took a shot of the bud that will open soon--yellow.
And if you look down in the right hand corner you will see
Mr. Fishy. He thinks he is hiding.

As soon as I came on the scene
Mr. Froggie plopped in the water.

But then he just kinda hung there,
waiting to see what I was up to.

It's a nice place to keep cool during this little heat wave
we are having here in Texas.

My ukulele band has an outdoor 'western' show
to put on at a nearby town--(Kyle for your Texas gals.)
The library there is kicking off their
summer reading program with lots
of activities.

I'm off to the show,
hope you all have a fun day, too!

  2. Love the pond, they are so relaxing. We had one several years ago, but DH filled it in when the snakes started finding it to be a cool spot from the summer heat....lol...the little flogs disappeared they didn't want to be lunch.

  4. Luv your pond! I would like to have one too but I'm scared that it's too much maintenance...is it? But I'm sure the benefits are priceless.

  5. Candy, love your pond and those water lilies! You're already having a heat wave there? Here in Carrollton, it's so breezy that the heat is often downgraded to warm. Plus, the constant rumblings at night help cool down the area I guess. Last night, we enjoyed a nice cool breeze though during the day, it was quite windy!

    Have a great Wednesday!

  8. I am married to an inside guy, unless he's climbing mountains or sailing the open seas...scouting stuff.
Yard work is a four letter word to him. But I love it. I do what I can and dream the rest!
