Gingerbread Tradition

Family tradition in our home each Christmas season is the making of the Gingerbread House. Hubby is the baker, I am the decorator & also in charge of clean up...boy does the flour fly with these guys!

But I do love to see them in the kitchen with their Christmas aprons. Samuel has been in training for the last couple of years and we know that the tradition is in good hands with him.
Ready for the final touch. This year we went with
the classic look. Some years I have gone quite crazy
with embellishments ;-)
Cute little nativity I picked up last week at G.W.

We wait until Christmas Day to start eating the
house but in the mean time we have a bucket of
yummy scraps...great with the morning coffee.

Cheers!

  1. I love your little gingerbread house. I looks so sweet and I bet it is when you start eating it. What a lovely tradition. It's so nice to see the men in the house cooking in the kitchen. My dad used to do that every once in a while. But I always got to do the clean up. Sure wish I could do that now just one more time. Hope you have a great day.

  5. What a great gingerbread house and talented menfolk in the kitchen. The Quilt of Life looks like a lovely gift. One of my best friends lives in San Antonio and year before last we did the Riverwalk. Gorgeous then and I am sure it is even more spectacular during the holiday season. Have a great time. Holiday blessings :) Tammy

  7. Candy, what fun you all do this together. Never have tried doing one ...

Your doll on the right sidebar looks just like my old Ginny doll that I loved beyond the depths of life in my childhood.

May your celebrations be joyous ~
    Merry Christmas ~
