Bench by Kathy Jawarowski
Just two examples of what to do with old doors whether screened or paneled. On a door the inset areas could be cut out and screened and you have a unique serving table for the porch. Great project for those odds and ends of lumber we are hording for a future project...this might be it! Don't have a door? Well I don't see why some old barn wood or plain old 1 X 4's wouldn't work. With your imagination and that sweet handyman you hang around with, something wonderful is sure to come of it.

  1. Hi Candy,
What a clever idea this is! I love the look of old doors, and another way to use them is always welcome. It would be a joy to "pot up" at one of these benches. Thanks for sharing them!

  2. love your blog. It looks like looking at a magazine. The pictures in the side bar are beautiful and the heather picture...I want one of those in my garden. My handyman is not that handy this days. DH will reluctantly work on my projects. I dream and vision things made out of junk but I',m afraid of the table saw. The bench is amazing. The picture of the cactus growing in the tree and the fact that makes you think that way tells a lot about you. I think is a great thing to connect with nature and be inspire to think. Did I see you in the Frenchlique blog? Blessings and happy Texas HOT days, Marta.

  5. That's awesome Candy! I may have to just do something like that with an old door I have sitting in the shed.
