Garden Work Day!

Off to weed the garden,
and also do a little fence repair.

The deer would just love to
sample the beans and onions.

Hope you all have recovered from
TAX DAY!

Wordless Wednesday-Tax Day~

Check out the list at French Lique, TX
Thanks, Dixie.

Cowgirl Up!

Saturday I went riding with a friend who
lives on a beautiful ranch.
We had so much fun and I hope to go again real soon.
The views were wonderful
as you can see the hills of Wimberley.

I came home with several rolls of old rusty fencing
to use in my front yard. Keeping the deer out of
MY area is an ongoing project. I use mostly local
plantings but still would like to have a few
flowering pockets here and there.

(you really must click to enlarge)
I just LOVE Spring!

After a little rain the salvia is full of
pretty pink flowers...the butterflies and
humming birds are in heaven.

I even have a few irises ready to open and
show off their purple petals.

I do see a little evidence of nibbling:-(

This is on the outer edge where I was
working this morning until the sun
got a little too hot. Can you see
my 'new' 2nd Time Around fence?

Thanks for stopping by day.

BLUE MONDAY~

Couple cards just for you,
some with pink and a touch of blue.

Now follow this butterfly over to Smiling Sally
for more to see,
to help make Monday as Blue as can be!

And for you prayer warriors, Jen and son could use you.
Her poem is wonderful.

The stone was rolled away...

And the angel answered and said to the women,
"Do not be afraid; for I know that you are
looking for Jesus who has been crucified.
He is not here, for He has risen,
just as He said. Come see the place
where He was lying."

Go quickly and tell...

Celebrating the Gift

"I am the good shepherd;
the good shepherd lays down His
life for the sheep."
John 10:11

"Greater love has no one than this,
that one lay down his life
for his friends.
You are My friends,
if you do what I command you."
John 15:13-14

"This I command you,
that you love one another."
John 15:17

Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice,
now help me to walk in
Your spirit of love.

Easter Brunch & Where I Cook~

What could be more natural
than greeting Easter morning
in the garden?

And here is where that cookin' is done. The heart of
my kitchen...the stove where love is mixed up
and ready to serve.

She rises also while it is still night,
And gives food to her household...

The builder couldn't understand why I
wanted a deep useless corner left open
behind my corner stove top. Just do it please.

The miniature cast iron stove and painted rock shoe
(on the brown box in the back-click to enlarge)
belonged to my MIL's mother. She was a kindred spirit
when it came to crafting. Wish I could have known her better.

This cutie pie on the wall always makes me smile...
stirs up (pun intended) feelings of my childhood.
Cute apron don't you think?

Susan has the menu for what's bein'
served up this week, so...

Let's Eat!

Wish I had this today...

Gifts From Friends~

Saturday morning before setting off to shop,
Dixie greeted everyone with a sweet smelling sachet.
French Lavender all the way from French Lique, Texas.
~wish there was a button for scratch and sniff~
And when she saw this vintage coaster she
just had to get it for me.
Thanks again sweet gal!

And I forget to post these cool little scoopers, found on a table where everything was 25c.

Hang onto your hat lady, the breeze is a blowin'!

On the trip home I stopped by the mailbox and as the
key turned I just wished there would be a little surprise.

WOO-HOO! Better than a magazine!!!

A package from The Rustic Victorian, a little
collection of goodies Marcie sent as we play
~PAY IT FORWARD~

A crystal tear drop and one of her cute little handmade
spools full of vintage ribbon...

secured with dainty lace.

Thank you Marcie!

What joy this blogging world has
brought my way. New friends,
sweet ladies~wish I could meet you all!

(Keep reading below for the Wimberley Market Report)

2nd Time Around Market

The Flea Market was full of 2nd Time Around stuff
and there was at least Three or More of everything!

WELCOME!
to the
Wimberley Market Report

Starting with what I brought home...

for the birds,
a sweet pink rose feeder,

this charming vintage butter dish,

and I couldn't resist this cute little shelf
which will be perfect to showcase several
miniature beauties.

Yes, I have a shelf thing going on~
my photography doesn't do them justice
(the one above is only 9" wide while the
bigger HEAVY one below is 30")

Now I will report on just a few of the hundreds
of things available...more than the eye can take in
or the brain can contain.

This tea cup fountain would be
the perfect centerpiece for a bubbly tea party!

Vintage baby items, all with a story to tell if they could.

Artwork galore~

How about a little black and white and pink?
Two pretty sinks...
and two portly pigs!

Some rather large yard art in
bright Spring colors,
just in time for Easter.

O.K. I did drool over this gazebo.
Would be perfect in my yard...
(picture to show my handyman at home)

Another picture to remind me what to do
with all the raw resources around my property!
~A Texas Hanging Garden~

And Dixie, the scarf lady from French Lique
arrived wearing this soft blue blouse and
vintage charmed necklace...but no scarf.

We were in for a warm sunny Texas day,
so she had left off any unnecessary accents.

But not for long because as we wandered
down the first lane she came upon a table
loaded with scarves...
long, broad strips of silk of every
shape and design.
This one was a perfect companion
for her attire.

One booth had a sign for every person
and every occasion.
I am still trying to figure out where I fit in with
the ladies I shared a fun Saturday in the
hill country...
If there were six of us, does that still make me
THE ONE?

That's O.K. it's more fun that way...
