Remembering, with a heart
full of gratitude, those who
paid the ultimate price for
our freedom.

The future of this country
has been placed in
our hands...

may we wake up before
it's too late.

We owe so much to so many.

Pink Saturday is two years old.

And I just want to say our
gracious hostess Beverley,
deserves to be the Cover Girl.

And I know you ladies have a lot
of visiting to do over the next
several days so...

Here's some Punch and...

Icing on the cake to celebrate...
a Neighborhood full of...
Kindred spirits.

Thank you all for the smiles you've
brought me through this
past year while we shared our
pink passions and a special
thanks to

Today is the last show of the season,
a list of tunes with a Spanish flair.

It's been fun but I do need a break
to get back to blogging and
not to mention...mowing...
the grass is almost
knee deep.

AY! AY! AY!

The last two months we have spent 16 days either in practice or performing. Our ukuleles entertained the Red Hat ladies and the Exxon Club of Retired folks with Hawaiian while four retirement and nursing homes across the hill country heard Hawaiian, Western, or Spanish music. Today we are playing for Happy Hour at Horizon Bay, a vibrant retirement home where my MIL moved the first of this month. She has taken part in Tai Chi, the writing club, and has started a chair hula class on Saturdays where she packs them in for mind & motion exercise. They are already planning a tour to share will other groups in the area. At 92 she is still hard to keep up with!

Aloha!
Adios!
and
Happy Trails to You!

Along the road in my neighborhood is this tree sprouting a cactus. The trunk is a great example of strength and endurance. Bent with deep scares, lifeless limbs that remind of past life. While returning home yesterday I spied the yellow blossom amongst the prickly disks of green. And you know the quote that popped into my head...

BLOOM WHERE YOU'RE PLANTED!

Hope you enjoyed my share for
Mellow Yellow
Monday
and that you are

BLOOMING!

Took a few minutes to refresh my soul
with a little crafting.

The show must go on.....

Strummin' my ukulele from here
and
all across the hills.

Western Show took a whole day just
to put together this prop for
Across the Alley from the Alamo.
I played the Navejo!

"Across the alley from the Alamo
lived a pinto pony and a Navejo..."

I fixed the pinto pony's tail
to a stick that I could
swish from the back.

Listen to the words of
the song and just imagine
me and my crazy self!

Do You Know About These?

I recently acquired this set of
silverware caddies.
After a little research I came up with
no information as to...
what is their proper name,
are they old or new, and
who made them.

There are no markings anywhere.
I tend to believe they are new because
of the freshness of the gold trim.

Would appreciate any light you
can shed on the mystery.

I know I have been MIA lately, but hoping things settle into a normal routine soon and I can return to the wonderful world of BLOGLAND. I miss visiting, creating, and sharing in everyone's happenings.
