Happy Birthday Samuel!

Seventeen years of wedded bliss had gone by before the labor pains hit me. Twelve of those years were spent on the infertility roller coaster. UP & DOWN. My spiritual life grew UP as my Sweet Lord walked and sometimes even carried me DOWN through some dark valleys. After many of those years I had come to a place of contentment, UP(I was lying to myself)DOWN, and I asked the Lord that if I was not to be a mother would He please remove my desire. UP. So as the contentment seemed to cover me I got scared...oh this means I AM NOT going to ever have a baby. DOWN.
Then in the fullness of time-October 15, 1992-everything melted into that moment. Samuel, asked of the Lord just like Hannah's Samuel of the old testament, my Samuel arrive and here he is 4 days old.

12 yrs.
17 years later...I am still on a roller coaster.
Just a different one!
But what a ride, we have enjoyed every
twist and turn.

Happy Birthday my sweet Samuel!

Love, Mommo
(Mommo...now that's another story for another day)

I can soooo relate to your story, Candy. I prayed the exact same prayer. "Please God...if it's not Your will for me to be a Momma, please remove the desire."

The desire never left me. Four years passed before our Brandon Kent was born. A miracle sent to us from the Most High.

Nearly three years later I said to my hubbs "I asked God for ONE BABY! Do I dare ask for another?"

Nine months later my daughter, Adrienne was born. Another baby, heaven sent.

Happy Birthday, Samuel. I love, love, LOVE your name.

Love,

Rebecca

Candy, Not only has Samuel blessed the lives of you and Doug, but you in turn have blessed his. What a lucky young man, to be a child so wanted and loved, by two parents that also love one another.

Blessings to you and your family... and happy birthday to your wonderful son!

hugs. Dixie

And yes I get around, Candy, lol. As a matter of fact, the MS Belle luncheon was on the same day in another city so we had to rush to get to the cooking class on time....Christine
