Pass the Peppermint Please!

Sometimes it takes a lot of thought
to come up with a pink post.
And of course I can think better
with my lucky pink scarf.

Other times I have to stretch out on the sofa to think.

~*~*~*~

But a walk through the garden almost always
yields a nice pic.

Since we had to come outside where the
temperatures are in the 100's here in Texas...
how about some cool peppermint ice cream
(Blue Bell of course)
and double chocolate chip cookies.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish to leave you
with this lovely ribbon heart that
says...

"Wait not till tomorrow;
Gather the roses of today."

What we saw in Geronimo...

were so many lovely, shabby, wonderful things.
Something for everybody. Terry admired
the bold red cream & sugar set.

And pinks. Who doesn't go for pink?

Ms Dixie found herself a new Sunday go-to-meetin' hat!
I think it went nicely with the weddin' dress she found.
Check her blog to see things from her perspective.
Don't worry Ricky, she thinks you're the cat's pajamas.

Now to a few things that I just couldn't leave behind.
Looks like a good start to a new collection.

And this blue candy dish...what?
It had my name on it. I had to get it.

Books, a few new ones for my collection.

I'm a bona fide magazine feen! So when I uncovered
a stack of vintage Victoria $1 each...from 1990-1998,
I finally had to tell myself to stop. I did leave some,
but now trying to keep myself from going back
and getting 'em.

This little town of Geronimo has been there all
these years. Practically right under my nose and
I never knew it. But just know I am going to
make up for lost time.

Now I'm off to the deck with a cup of tea and a magazine...
sure wish you were here to share with me.
But do go by Kelli's to see more SHOW & TELL

A Bit of This & That

I really should be getting ready for my
shopping day with friends. We are meeting
Dixie from French Lique, TX for a bit
of junkin' in Geronimo.

But just had to share a few delicious settings.

This one was found at the White Cottage Memoirs.
(can't wait to explore more)

No full table but just a little bit of this lace and...

oops, forgot the silverware...silly me ;-)

If we come back with some good pics,
will share for Thrifty Thursday this afternoon.

Now back to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch
for more Tablescapes.

Hope you have a thrilling Thursday yourself!

A seed and the faith of a child...

I just read a precious story
and just want, no had to share it with everyone!!!

Please go over to Sherry's
Country Wings in Phoenix

Too hot for outside...

Today we'd better stay on the porch
sipping some cool iced lemonade.
But from here we can see some
pretty little garden scenes.

Just yesterday on a trip into town,
MIL and I stopped in W-Mart and I
headed for the spray paint section.
Inspired by this pic and also by the
great redo that Kathy over at
Sweet Up-North Mornings
made...posted July 5th on her blog.

If I get to it this week will post as my
Met Monday project. For those new to this meme,
they are before and after projects. So if you
have one consider joining the fun at
Susan's Between Naps on the Porch.

I am a fan of rust. Love the time weathered
look of anything old.

Stay cool as you do your walk-about

Hats off in Ruby Tuesday fashion

You could pick a nice shade of brown,
there's 3 or more to choose from but...

Since it's...

only a red hat will do.

I was all ready to go to Grits and Glamour's
Tea Time, only to find out that

she is retiring from blogging to expand her business.
So I welcome you to pick a cup and let's toast
to her success.

We'll miss ya Barb, but you go girl!

Visits to make today are...

Whether pale or bold...

BLUE is a color that speaks to me.

In a whisper of soft shades

or boldly shouting in cobalt blue.

This is a one-of-a-kind from an auction in Florida.

And how about some...
patriotic blues from the parade.

a Time to Dance

(on the back of the book)

They celebrated their love with a dance,
Will they end it with divorce?

John and Abby Reynolds were the perfect couple, sharing a love born of childhood friendship and deep family ties. They are envied by their friends, cherished by their children, admired by their peers. But John and Abby are about to lose it all. On the verge of having an affair, John is no more the man Abby married than she is the long ago girl of his dreams. They are strangers whose days of dancing seem gone forever.

They gather their three children to announce their plans, but before they can speak, their daughter makes an announcement of her own: she's getting married in the summer.

Abby and John determine not to ruin their daughter's season of happiness, but as the wedding nears, they are haunted by questions. Is the decision they've made irreversible? Are there times when marriage--even the marriage between two people of faith--is truly beyond repair? And is it possible, alone in the moonlight on an old wooden pier, to once more find...a time to dance?

Discover the resiliency of boundless love, the power of commitment, and the amazing faithfulness of God in A Time to Dance.

Soft Pinks for a Restful Fourth

Thanks Beverly for working to keep our
pink passions going even on a holiday.

Thanks for stopping by and I won't keep
you because there are so many
ladies with treasures to share
in every shade of pink.

Enjoy a restful celebration
for our nation's birthday.

Off to the parade...

...this morning.

So I thought I would share a
parade of patriotic houses.

This next one just need a few geraniums in the
window box.

And these are not just for the birds.

Thanks for sharing in my parade.
