Memories of the BIG WISH BOOK

Not exactly sure why this
1902 Edition of
The SEARS, ROEBUCK Catalogue
is on our shelf. Probably a reproduction
of the original. I'll have to ask my
MIL about it today on our
outing into the big city to
run some errands.

Celebrating RED & WHITE Wednesday...

And here's a little BLACK & WHITE
From yesterday's performance at a nursing home. The band did a western show and although I play ukulele I couldn't resist a photo opt while carrying in the bass fiddle for one of the band members. Someone asked me if those braids were real...Why they shore are ma'am!

Playing around down here in Texas,
you gotta have a fiddle in the band.

Hope ya take time to visit these two
Wednesday party ladies...

Sue for REDnesday at
It's A Very Cherry World!

and

Kathleen for WHITE WEDNESDAY at
Faded Charm Cottage.

Hey Candy, love that white room. Thanks for posting about my giveaway and I must admit I've been a lurker of your blog for a while. Love seeing your posts about Glory B's and just wish I lived closer so that I could shop with her weekly!

Oh Candy! What fond memories the "wish Book" brings to me. As kids we used to go through the pages and write our names on the toys we wanted Santa to bring! Sweet, sweet times...

Love the braids, they are adoreable. I have that same old Sears Catalog. Such fun to look through. I too remember the Sears Wish Book. It was something my children poured over for hours and marked so many pages with all their desires. It was great entertainment for them. Too bad they don't still have it. Hugs, Marty

I have that same Sears catalog, and yes, it's a reproduction. I swiped mine from my Mom's house, and I can remember looking at it when I was little. Maybe that's when my love of old stuff started!
Happy Rednesday!

Hi Candy...

I just love those old Sears & Roebuck catalogs...I have a smaller version...reproduction of course! But it's so fun to look at the merchandise of the day...and Ohhh my...those prices! Hehe!

Love all of the beautiful display of white, my friend! I think the old tattered books with the pretty ribbon tied around them is an awesome idea! Thank you for sharing all the pretties with us today!

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

Love the Sears pic and you and your braids are precious. You look so cute. Nursing Homes can be a lot of fun, I worked in one for a long time. I loved working there.
Your other pics are great too. Hope you have a great day!

I'm sorry I'm late - very busy the past two days! That Sears & Roebuck must be a repro - I know Cleveland Amory wasn't around at the turn of last century! The rest of your photos are all so pretty, and interesting!

I'm glad to see you have long hair still. Mine is as long as yours, and I've been thinking that I shouldn't have such long hair at 54 (no gray yet!), but now I don't care!
