Not exactly sure why this 1902 Edition of The SEARS, ROEBUCK Catalogue is on our shelf. Probably a reproduction of the original. I'll have to ask my MIL about it today on our outing into the big city to run some errands.
Celebrating RED & WHITE Wednesday...
And here's a little BLACK & WHITE
From yesterday's performance at a nursing home. The band did a western show and although I play ukulele I couldn't resist a photo opt while carrying in the bass fiddle for one of the band members. Someone asked me if those braids were real...Why they shore are ma'am!
Playing around down here in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band.
Hope ya take time to visit these two Wednesday party ladies...
Years of cake has left me with chubby little
arms and chubby little legs.
I just don't know why they aren't
as cute now as they were then :-/
My friend, Terry had been busy secretly picking up items from my thrifting list--various sizes of cornucopias and an Etch-A-Sketch. And the Pooh thing...all I can say is I must be in my second childhood. Missing out on the Pooh party the first go round, I am having fun exploring the Hundred Acre Woods. And in the delightful words of Tigger, "Hoo-hoo-hoo!" Terry you are sweet as honey.
In the words of Pooh..."I improve my appetite when I exercise." That's the secret, move more, eat less. And actually I will not be indulging in cake today. I am on a five-day RESET program that started Thursday and will end Monday. This was my gift to ME! But I am not too bummed for I have exchanged cake for a 5 lb. loss as of this morning. (excuse me while I do the happy dance!) Nice jump start for a long term/life long change that will keep me healthy and active as those candles keep multiplying on my cake.
More presents? For me?
...up, down, touch the ground...Sweet hubby gave me a little TV for the treadmill. We had one before but when the whole TV thing changed it didn't work anymore. So I guess I stopped working too. So now I can get back to walking while watching my favorite shows and run during the commercials. Go Girl Go! My son gave me a new wicked sharp saw, he knows I love to play/work outside. Look out dead limbs and cedar trees here I come!
Another thing that has been on my wish list a loooooong time...a jewelry armoire. Last week MIL and I were shopping at our new JC Penney's and they had them on sale. Usually being several hundred dollars, this one had a sale tag of $119. O.K. this is it! While she was checking out the sales clerk said she could save 10%, 20%, or 30% if she opened an account, fine. She scratched the 'lottery ticket'...30%! Great!! So then he started ringing it up. Sale price-$275 - 30%...wait, wait, wait. We thought it was $119. No ma'am. Well then we don't want it. He goes to look at the floor model and sure enough that was the price, oops store error. They honored it and then promptly made the change. Summary, Amoire-$350, sale price-$119, - 30%, $89. We drove away laughing and you guessed it...more happy dancing!
Glad to be back for MOSAIC MONDAY & MELLOW YELLOW fun. (click on the stamps to visit each sweet hostess)
Market Days with Dixie...was a good day. I needed the girl time and am so glad she made the long trip in the rain. She also did such a nice post on our adventure, so for the rest of the story, pop on over toFrench Lique.
I didn't realize my outfit was perfect for BLUE & Yellow Poke-a-Dot Monday.
Wishing you skies of blue and warm yellow sunshine.
Monday...Blue Monday...I've gathered a bit of earth tones with accents of blue. Whether covered in blue feathers of just a touch, these littlewinged creatures aresaying, "Good Morning!"
This scene gives me a feeling of coolness, a much needed thing around here. Icebergs and chilling champagne. Gotta love that blue coral and velvety chair.
And this wall had a blueish hue... until I placed them next to that chair. I would love for my bedroom walls to look like this and the bed isn't too shabby either.

Sunday, four ladies traveled to a little town outside of San Antonio, Bulverde, to see the play--BARBARA'S BLUE KITCHEN. My friend, Sandi is sister to the director of the playhouse. This show takes audience members to fill the cafe with customers. Sandi & Candy were chosen to occupy a table throughout the entire show. We even had a line to say and were served ice cream sundaes! We got to see the show, as they say, up close and personal. Cast photo...you can see me and Sandi in front in the black shirt.
A STAR IS BORN? I don't think so.
Stop by Smiling Sally, she is serving up the blue plate special!
It all started with thinking about what to serve for Mother's Day.
Mamaw's favorite meal? Burger & Fries!
Atmosphere? Hey Daddy-O! what about a diner, a 50's diner?
Hung out the shingle and cranked up the Juke Box.
Used records, aka 78's for chargers, but I had to make new labels to fit the occasion.
Designed a menu with Moondoggy's cool car on the cover. Burger Fries Onion Rings Coke Floats
Had big plans for pictures...but you know how it goes!
Onion Rings (best I have ever made) & Fries came out of the Fry Daddy, assembled the burgers--to order-- and delivered to the hungry customers... next thing I knew we are sitting back talkin' 'bout how good everything was and... OMGosh! no pictures:-(
The place was hoppin' & bobbin' ...around the clock! Mamaw may be 92 but she can still cut a rug!
No time for shoppin' but look what I found in the back of my closet. (why this was in my closet is a whole 'nother story)
MIL is still talkin' about 'THE BEST' party ever!
~Candy~
ps Pony, Monkey, or Twist on over to Susan's for more tables deck out for a good time.
