And I'll sneak in this little creation I put
together with a trivet from the thrift store,
vintage taffeta ribbon, and the picture...
my MIL in her early years, what a beauty.
Today I was killing a little time while my son was in Spanish class at his Community College in the big city...Austin. (Dual credit courses for high school and college.) While flipping through the pictures came across this sweet black cat and he just jumped right into my cart.
Have done a little web search which seems promising. Dr. David Kwo was known for his ink paintings in which 'he blended the disciplined art of Chinese calligraphic brush strokes and with Western emphasis on freedom, creativity, and improvisation.' There is mention of a painting of his black cat, Kim which was given to his daughter. I think I have a little more investigation to do...could this be Kim?

Hi Candy...
Loving your thrift store finds. I love the purses you found, and the beautiful treasure that you already had. Aren't they just the sweetest things ever? I am afraid my days of little bags are gone and done with. I have to carry a suitcase according to my husband to fit all my necessities in it.
Now you will have to keep me posted on this special black cat, kim, painted by David Kwo. How exciting would this be? You never know what you might find of interest.
Lovin the eye candy items here today. Thanks for sharing.
Stop by soon sweetie. I so love the company. Country hugs...Sherry

Hi Candy
Just popped over from 2nd time around, your little bags are just gorgeous and your vignette is a loving tribute to your MIL.
Good luck on the search for Kim's origins.

Now I am a sucker for evening bags; love them! And I am waiting to hear that your cat picture is a long lost masterpiece and worth THOUSANDS. Cause that would be just so very cool.

Good luck with your search on Kim. The trio of handbags is charming. ~ Sarah
The black bag and the black cat are my favorites. I've never even thought about using my vintage bags as wall hangings. So neat!
