I just can't pass up a weird or unusual piece of...well anything. It just seems to strike a chord deep within me. I guess cause I'm a bit weird and unusual...in a good sort of way I hope. So when I came across this piece I took it. Not sure at the time how it would serve a purpose until...
...it joined my growing bottle cottage plant holder thingys. Please ignore the death by freezing cactus in the cottages. I forgot to grab these one evening when the temperatures were falling.
And just picked these up yesterday
at the Antique Mall when I went to put
some more stuff in my booth. Will they
became more garden stakes...who knows.
While out taking pics in the garden
I snapped a few table vignettes
on the porch
to share for my first time to join
TABLETOP TUESDAY.

And to tie all these different memes together
I need a little French thread on
a vintage paper RED spool.

Playing cause everything is on it's

The Cat's Meow

1-2-3 little evening bags hanging on the wall.
Latest find at my local thrift store,
gold metal shell shape, pretty neat.
Another thrift store find, nice but not old.
Black beaded body with a carved metal top.
Now this one is old and has been in the
family treasures since...well before my time.

And I'll sneak in this little creation I put
together with a trivet from the thrift store,
vintage taffeta ribbon, and the picture...
my MIL in her early years, what a beauty.

And all these items are on their 2nd Time Around
Around my house.

Today I was killing a little time while my son was in Spanish class at his Community College in the big city...Austin. (Dual credit courses for high school and college.) While flipping through the pictures came across this sweet black cat and he just jumped right into my cart.
Have done a little web search which seems promising. Dr. David Kwo was known for his ink paintings in which 'he blended the disciplined art of Chinese calligraphic brush strokes and with Western emphasis on freedom, creativity, and improvisation.' There is mention of a painting of his black cat, Kim which was given to his daughter. I think I have a little more investigation to do...could this be Kim?

Life is so busy around here lately,
I am so missing out on blogging and visiting,
but hope you have time to check out

A Shady Story

As in lamp shade shady. While gathering pictures for my Tuesday memes, three different themes, the light bulb in my head lit up. There was a light fixture in every one. So even though the first two pictures were showing RED, as in RED pillows, you know how much I like pillows, they also had a lamp or two. But wait...is that a little dog print on that round cushion and a big pooch on the bed pillow? O.K. this is really weird! Fishy! Could be shady business afoot.

Not sure but Ruby Tuesday's RED slippers
could be sticking out from either
the chase or the bed.
Shady business could be responsible
for cutting off the view.
Maybe the dogs will bark if they
see or smell anything.

~*~*~*~*~

Now these lamps are the bright creations of
Christine Kilger of NIGHTSHADES
located in Boca Raton, FL.
She has many more than
Three so if these leave you
wanting more...
turn out the lights and head for
NightShades.

To be sure these jewels only get better with age
but that cannot be said for all light fixtures.

I am always looking for new ways to use old,
elements. And here are the perfect
D-I-Y ideas to give globes and vintage fixtures a
Second Time Around
.

Like Motel 6 the light is on so hope you take the time,
day or night, to visit these sweet ladies and all those
sharing wonderful stories.
Any other shady stories? There's only one way
to find out.
