Mingle Monday~~~

mingle-mix, combine, blend, merge, join in.

Joining in to play along with three memes today...
BLUE MONDAY MELLOW YELLOW MONDAY MOSAIC MONDAY

Combining a sea shell, some pearls, and a
blending
of ribbon with trim I created
Pearls of Wisdom
with a blushing blue label which is now
in my booth at
Jean's Antique Mall here in Wimberley.

And for yellow I find this to be a perfect fit!
Taken to the booth today,
but also posted on my RockCandyStore.

Each are a mixture of interest and you will notice I
also merged the meme stamps together.
Hope you have time to visit them all.

New MEME!

Discovered SILVER SUNDAY just this morning
and am finally getting time to play.

How about a little sampling of
thrift store finds.

A vase loaded with lost silver.
During a visit to Sweet Up-North Mornings, she used the phrase silver orphanage to describe some of her collection, I loved the expression and asked if I could use it. I made a tiny padded pillow from some taffeta ribbon to hang on my assortment of knives.
If silver is your thang!
Bop on over to the
Gypsy Fish Journal
and say HI to Beth.

The sun is shining today in a
shimmering shade of silver.

How-to classes...
my mind is running wild with the
thought of it all.

Are there any event planners out there?

Let's play Antique Road Show!

I missed Blue Monday yesterday
at Smiling Sally's with this
valuable vase.

At least I think it is...

Have any of you guys
ever seen anything like this?

She is 8 1/2" tall and there are no
markings on her bottom.
See the lovely little bow on her neck
and the bright gold accents?

Well, does anyone have a clue
about this blue beauty?

And speaking of playing... some clever gal out there in blogland made some flowers from recycled coffee filters. So I started saving mine. Just a little rinse in the sink and laid them out to dry. And this morning while having my second cup I grabbed the stack and started twisting and tweaking. Then attached them to an an abandoned wire flower thingy with some floral tape. Six blooms in all. Now that can't be right, I seem to remember some rule about uneven numbers. I better recount...1-2-3-4-5-6-7. Lucky me!
Now that's what I call goin' green!

And 7 recycled roses allows me to play

Kissing the face of God

This is my most favorite
Christmas card ever.

The fullness of the Creator
cradled in a mother's arms.
What a special moment for Mary.

Hope the Spirit of Christmas is
filling your homes all around
the globe.

Merry Christmas

Gingerbread Tradition

Family tradition in our home each Christmas season is the making of the Gingerbread House. Hubby is the baker, I am the decorator & also in charge of clean up...boy does the flour fly with these guys!

But I do love to see them in the kitchen with their Christmas aprons. Samuel has been in training for the last couple of years and we know that the tradition is in good hands with him.
Ready for the final touch. This year we went with
the classic look. Some years I have gone quite crazy
with embellishments ;-)
Cute little nativity I picked up last week at G.W.

We wait until Christmas Day to start eating the
house but in the mean time we have a bucket of
yummy scraps...great with the morning coffee.

Cheers!

Day with Dixie & Terry~~Part II

Finally getting around to Part II of the story.
As Dixie had shared in her post, Terry had given
us both this book that I can't wait to delve into.

In my last post I talked about the restroom at this place.
Very eclectic decor, and here are two of the guitars
displayed on the wall. Dixie especially wanted
to see the winged one again.

Thank you Dixie for the BUGGY-O-GIFTS!
She had put together an assortment of
goodies just perfect for me.
And the best of all was the story of the little
parking lot baby doll.
Thanks Ricky for letting her make the rescue.

Now it's time to pack for our annual holiday
RIVER WALK trip to San Antonio, TX.
Miles of brightly colored restaurants & shops that
take on a magical feel by night.
Boats are a moving stage as they go by carrying carolers,
folks dining and even the
Holy Family grace those as they float by.
Merry Christmas to all!

Day with Dixie~~~PART I

So some of you sweeties may have noticed (well I hope you have), I have been away from blogland. But only physically...as you all are always on my mind. Two more ukulele shows (today and tomorrow) and it is done for the year. Then I can get to decorating, baking, and enjoying the celebration centered around my SAVIOR'S birth.

Yesterday I spent with girlfriends, Terry and Dixie. For a little more story check with Dixie. One of our stops was at a local book store and being the $1 girl that I am, zipped right past all the new books and headed straight for the dungeon. We laughed while reading titles and talking about the different types of material that call to us. Here are three that I just had to have.

A poetry book (.60) for the mathematicians in my life and two for me. (1.50)
'What is it that draws us to the heart motif?'
Mary Emmerling
'Distance only lends enchantment,
Through the ocean waves divide;
Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
Longing to be near your side.
ARTHUR GILLESPIE

And this last one if from the Pie Place where we stopped to indulge our sweet tooth. Upon leaving the girls asked if I had been to the restroom. 'No, why?' Oh, it is your kind of place. So after opening the door they were pointing to, which was to the kitchen...No, no not that one they sang out together! Back a narrow hall between freezers was a little hole in the wall. A corner hutch with toys and 'off the wall' stuff--I loved it! After commenting on the little guy tucked into the brick wall they didn't know what I was talking about. SO I drug them back to see.

YEP! just my kind of stuff...weird ;-)
