A Royal Affair

The purple mist is in full bloom and the butterflies
are putting on quite a show. Monarchs, Queens,
Red Admirals, and a host of small winged creatures
are in court to honor the occasion.
The Red Admiral sports bars of red across its shoulders.
The monarch is loading up for its migration down
into Mexico where it spends the winter.
Clay pots have been on my list all summer in order
to build another tower. Had the big
one for the bottom and recently found these
three for $2 each at a garage sale. What a
great deal...already loaded with dirt!
Can't wait for the morning glories and
moss rose to put on a show.

My Texas garden has come alive with
the cooler temps and refreshing rains. While out in the garden I didn't forget about
WHITE WEDNESDAY
as I captured these shots.
Fall...a great time to be outdoors and
A Southern Daydreamer is the place to
show off whatever is in your corner of
the globe.

Tis the season for reds and more is
popping out at It's A Very Cherry World!

Faded Charm is a place to visit if white,
chippy, vintage, fade charm is your thing.
And with the reds of the season,
the soft white glow of candles
are a wonderful accent.

Hope you gals have a great day!

My Bloomin' Yard!

And finally the rains came
and watered t
he land.
So all my little flowering bushes are
doing the happy dance.

All summer I have drooled over the beautiful
gardens across bloggerville
while my own little plot of earth
shriveled and turned brown.

No pink here but had to show my little kitty,
and the little pudgie birdie
watching me dance around the yard
snapping pictures of all the PINK!

Up my front walk are these Dollar Tree pavers.
It's true, my blogging friends do add a
special ray of sunshine to my life.

And Beverly of How Sweet the Sound
is a Lovely PINK SATURDAY hostess.
I hope you stop by and see her along
with Meg at her Vintage Garden Home.

I am also tickled pink that
Dixie and I, along with Bonnie,
my friend from the
next town over,
are off to Wimbere
ly Market Days
in the morning...come rain or shine.

Hope you all have a special adventure of your own.
And speaking of adventure... Debra of Common Ground is celebrating her 100th post. Great goodies and more, so head over and put your name in the hat!
And while you are at it...Connie of Living Beautifully is celebrating her 700th post...WOW! She is sharing one of her awesome aprons. Many to choose from (her choice) but they are all great. Check it out!

Keepin' cool...

...in the pool. I stepped outside this morning
to take a few pics of the pond for my
OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY celebration today.

The fish kept darting in and out from under the water lilies,
so I took a shot of the bud that will open soon--yellow.
And if you look down in the right hand corner you will see
Mr. Fishy. He thinks he is hiding.

As soon as I came on the scene
Mr. Froggie plopped in the water.

But then he just kinda hung there,
waiting to see what I was up to.

It's a nice place to keep cool during this little heat wave
we are having here in Texas.

My ukulele band has an outdoor 'western' show
to put on at a nearby town--(Kyle for your Texas gals.)
The library there is kicking off their
summer reading program with lots
of activities.

I'm off to the show,
hope you all have a fun day, too!

MY little WORLD~

Just walked out this morning to see what I could see.
If I could capture a few things to show
for OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY...
(if you take the time to click on to enlarge
makes for a more life size experience)

Still working the fence issue, but getting close.
This is a small 'room' where I did
a little recycling of wine bottles.
(took me almost a whole week to get this many)
JUST KIDDING;-}

Huge century plants that tower over my head.

And one yucca bloom. They must be like
little sugar drops to the deer, they love 'em.
The fence saved this one.

And here they are trying to figure out how...
Over? Under? Around? Through?

These are the white tail, but we also have
Black Buck Antelope and Fallow in our
gated community. It is definitely a
love/hate relationship.
(the horns in the first pic are from a fallow)

This is why I love to visit your lovely flowers
every week.
Thanks to Susan for pulling our
OUTDOOR pictures into a
nice 'Garden Magazine'

Cowgirl Up!

Saturday I went riding with a friend who
lives on a beautiful ranch.
We had so much fun and I hope to go again real soon.
The views were wonderful
as you can see the hills of Wimberley.

I came home with several rolls of old rusty fencing
to use in my front yard. Keeping the deer out of
MY area is an ongoing project. I use mostly local
plantings but still would like to have a few
flowering pockets here and there.

(you really must click to enlarge)
I just LOVE Spring!

After a little rain the salvia is full of
pretty pink flowers...the butterflies and
humming birds are in heaven.

I even have a few irises ready to open and
show off their purple petals.

I do see a little evidence of nibbling:-(

This is on the outer edge where I was
working this morning until the sun
got a little too hot. Can you see
my 'new' 2nd Time Around fence?

Thanks for stopping by day.
