Need help solving a mystery~

A couple months ago one of our fellow bloggers
shared a heart-shaped rock collection she had.
The grandson had found one of them
and so I too, wanted to help with the
collecting. I told her I would keep
an eye out and send her the next
one I see.

So for months, as I walked, worked, and
just enjoyed my neck of the woods,
I finally spotted this one.
Not a heart shaped rock but
it does have the neatest
little heart imprint, don't you think?
(heart is about the size of a quarter)

The mystery is...
I can't find her e-mail where we
talked about this and short of
spending countless hours going
through everyone's pages...

If anyone knows who this might be,
or if it is you,
please help me out.

There might even be a little finders fee!

the mystery. It was Spencer of

Giving my MIL the night off,
told her I would do dinner.

With all the wonderful rain we're getting
here in Texas everything is turning green.
So I chose green stem ware and napkins to
compliment the fruit of my labor.
(both from the thrift store)
Monogrammed family silver from the1880's.

They say, "An apple a day..."

Got these salad plates at Kolh's
a hundred years ago, well...
at least a really long time ago.

Borrowed these place mats from my MIL
(guess I forgot to return 'em, oops)

But they were made for these dishes,
how could I split them up now?

Chef Hubby did steaks on the grill
while I made asparagus, mashed potatoes,
and a fruit plate.
(strawberries, blackberries, & mango)

BIL brought hot apple pie...delish!

Don't forget to stop over at Susan's
for more table top creations.

Enter Gates with Thanksgiving~

Welcome to my garden today.
Pick a gate and come on in.

Kick off your boots and sit a spell
I have a little story to tell.

The girls and I were just talkin'
'bout the lady down the street.
So off we went a walkin'
to partake in a meet and greet.

Up, down and around the bend
we wound our way along.
She made sure that we would comprehend,
'To me these babies belong!'

Holding them tightly, ready to protect.
We told her she's a good mother.
And would she entertain a little prospect
That we could be friends with each other.

That is what blogland is to me.
A place where we, protective moms
(of ours or others)
gather, connect and encourage one another.

A woman who fears the Lord shall be praised.
Let her works praise her in the gates.

This last gate is one I would love to have here at RockCandy.

Say hi to Tam at The Gypsy's Corner
when you check out the other Three or More.

Blessings to all

Last week there were but a few
purple buds peeking, teasing.

This week...out in all their glory.

When words escape,
flowers speak.

In my garden there is a large place for sentiment.
My garden of flowers is also
garden of thoughts and dreams.
The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers,

and the dreams are as beautiful.

When you leave my garden don't forget
to pass by Kelli's House.

A Gift that keeps on giving~

My dear friend Terry and I have admired
this sweet print ever since I posted her
on my blog. (see her right there-->)

Discovering the artist,
her sweet hubby bought a print
which now hangs in their home.

We met for a little visit the other day
and she surprised me with this large print
she found at a second hand shop.

This frame, including the double mat of dark green & brown,
has been waiting behind my bedroom door
for about a year now,
waiting for the perfect picture.

Now that is a pretty picture!
Thank you, Terry.

I hope to get her hung on the wall
this week and will share once
it is done.

So you could say this is
of a Metamorphosis Monday project.
Next week Part II 'THE HANGING'

Visit Susan for more before and after stories

and since the door (on my pic) is blue...

Visit Sally for Blue Monday

Have a great day, ladies!

Pink Saturday~

Is it Saturday already?
Yes! So let's celebrate with...

pink bows,

and a soft pink rose.

While tiny seed pearls adorn her frock,

this pink-winged cupid
sports curly brown locks.

Before she loads her arrow you
better skedaddle on over to Beverly's
at How Sweet the Sound
for more Pink Saturday Posts.

Foodie Friday~

Here is a family favorite
and it is soooo easy.

I either use chicken breasts or tenders.
I also cut off all the little veins and any other
'foreign matter' the butcher leaves behind.

A piece of corned beef goes on both sides of
the a sandwich.
I use the thinnest bacon possible, cut the
strips in half, and stretch as it wraps
around the 'sandwich.'

I forgot to grease the dish and nothing bad
happened...another step you could cross out.

(And you can see different ways to
wrap depending on your preference.)

I double the soup and sour cream because--
OMGOSH! this stuff is yummy!!!
Served on sliced potatoes or rice.
If potatoes...I slice 1/4 thick and arrange in
backing dish, drizzle with butter, s&p, and
parsley. Bake along with the chicken--
side by side in the oven.
(baste several times to keep them moist)

Cover meat with soup mixture,
cover loosely with foil,
and bake 3 hours at 275.
(no checking necessary)

This time I loaded up chicken, a pot of rice,
and broccoli as we headed down the street
to MIL's house for dinner.
Cooked my broccoli there because I
just steam for a few it
bright green and crisp.

And talk about good leftovers...
