A Garden of Silver

Victoria February 1990

'As if carved of moonlight by an ethereal hand, the floral-patterned silver of the past captured the fleeting beauty of nature~~the perfection of a rose with its petals unfurled, the exuberance of chrysanthemums. Trained along the side of a teapot or abloom on a spoon, these lush images have a grace that still endures.'

Only one more week left to
share your silver
hosted by

I was trying to work up a
silver post with a little different twist.
Couldn't bring it all together but
hopefully will have it ready
for the grand finale
next week.

God Bless you all~~~

There is always music amongst
the trees in the garden,
but our hearts must be very
quiet to hear it.
Minnie Aumonier

Wishing you music to sooth the soul...

Friends Helping Friends~

On my profile the occupation is listed as
'Whatever is required each day!'

and today's call came from
Dixie of French Lique,Texas
who is moving her booth at
the antique mall in
Geronimo.

So as Terry and I put on our
fairy wings and jump out the door,
if you listen carefully you might hear
us yelling...

G E R O N I M O!

While I'm off heaving and hoeing on this
Friends Helping Friends Friday...
you might want to visit more postcards

at The French Factrice
and tell Marie
I sent ya.

Love in Bloom~

Oh! I'm so excited about the
first bloom from my February crop.
You can grow them too!
All it takes is some inspiration
from Blogland. I got it today and
am passing on to you...

Dig around in your supplies for
a bit of burlap scrap

attach to a cedar stick from the yard...
it helps to live in the country,
you city gals will have to be more creative.

Needs to be red?
a sprinkle of red and black craft paint
smeared in a paper plate
and have fun with your brush
a little brush here
a little brush there
e-i-e-i-oooo so pretty!

add a little L*O*V*E patch that
just takes a scrap of ribbon,
yarn, whatever...

secret...I used a real needle not that old rusty nail.I can't wait for more to bloom

Go on put your own twist to it,
it's so much fun!

I just can't pass up a weird or unusual piece of...well anything. It just seems to strike a chord deep within me. I guess cause I'm a bit weird and unusual...in a good sort of way I hope. So when I came across this piece I took it. Not sure at the time how it would serve a purpose until...
...it joined my growing bottle cottage plant holder thingys. Please ignore the death by freezing cactus in the cottages. I forgot to grab these one evening when the temperatures were falling.
And just picked these up yesterday
at the Antique Mall when I went to put
some more stuff in my booth. Will they
became more garden stakes...who knows.
While out taking pics in the garden
I snapped a few table vignettes
on the porch
to share for my first time to join
TABLETOP TUESDAY.

And to tie all these different memes together
I need a little French thread on
a vintage paper RED spool.

Playing cause everything is on it's
2nd Time Around
here at Rock Candy!

Ruby Tuesday * Work of the Poet

Looks like someone's in the
cookies again!

"Sue" is a cute little NAPCO 1958 figurine that caught my eye last week on my 'GIRLS DAY OUT' junkin' through the country side. She has just the sweetest sparkle in her eye above those freckles and she is almost as old as me but still has her girlish figure after all those years of eating cookies. Well, just the perfect BLUE MONDAY gal in a MOSAIC MONDAY collage with a MELLOW YELLOW background. If you're a collector or just want her cause she's cute, I'll be putting her in my ROCK CANDY SHOP.

~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

Finally had a sunny day that lined up
with time for painting a stack of stuff
so I can play
METAMORPHOSIS MONDAY
Before & After projects

Hangin' out in the garage all day with
the tunes blasting on my boom box
kept me out of the cookies ;-)Still need to sand the chairs for a shabby look and make some ruffled something cushions. And I think I'm going to glue tea stained sheets of music on the bottom of the crib but the large shelf is already in my booth here in Wimberley at Jean's Antique Mall for extra display space.

Monday is a busy day of the week
with so many memes to play along with.

So grab your camera and share something
or just visit all the others who
always have a variety of things to
show & tell about.

BLUE MONDAY * Smiling Sally
MOSAIC MONDAY * Little Red House
MELLOW YELLOW MONDAY
MET MONDAY * Between Naps on the Porch

Wishing you all a wacky week of fun!

Come Dance With Me~

These clever little creatures
with their little forky feet
were pieced together by
Jangling Jack

Sure will make that next outing at
the thrift store take one a new
way of looking at things.

For a bit more silver visit
The Gypsy Fish

and

my thought for the day...

Strength and dignity are
her clothing,
And she smiles at the
future.
She opens her mouth
in wisdom,
And the teaching of
kindness is on
her tongue.

I strive to be a
Proverbs 31 woman who

dances in the wind

come dance with me...
